Industry Changes 2024
As of 1st July 2024, Australia made the decision to ban engineered stone which contained silica.
What does this mean?
Stone brands transitioned from low silica to silica free stone. The same great brands, as well as new colours and patterns, are available to produce safe and beautiful benchtops which complies with the updated standards.
What about my existing stone benchtops?
You are not required to do anything further and there is no risk involved to keep them in place. In circumstances where you may need minor alterations (for example you have bought a new cooktop and it doesn't quite fit in the existing cutout) Safe Work Australia has approved alterations to be completed using standard practice precautionary measures. All In Stone has also received approval to remove and dispose of existing stone benchtops.
